Hotels in Mallorca

Mallorca island is one of Europe's main tourist destinations. Due to their location, the Balearic Islands have been through the centuries a cause of conflict among different nations (Islamic and Germanic nations, and even Habsburg's and Bourbon's royal houses). Booking a room in our hotels in Mallorca is a guarantee of exceptional holidays.

What to visit?

The traces of the past are visible all over the island, and their magnificent beaches and cliffs are some of its most interesting tourist attractions.

Palma's Gothic cathedral is one of the island's most famous buildings. Its construction was ordered by Jaume I el Conquistador in the 13th century. It was built where an old mosque used to stand, so it is oriented towards the Mecca.

Bellver Castle has an uncommon circular floor plan (there are just a few castles with this structure in Europe). Through history, it has been used as a residence for the Crown of Aragon in the 14th century, as a defense bastion in sieges in the 16th century, or as a military prison during the 18th century. Inside you can visit Palma's Municipal Museum.

Almudaina's Royal Palace is King Juan Carlos official summer residence. This tradition has been going on since the 14th century, when the Crown of Aragon set here its residence. It is located just opposite the Cathedral, with views over the harbour.

Walking around the medieval quarter is an unforgettable experience. There, we should visit the Baños Árabes (Arab baths), which are currently the only Islamic building kept intact in Mallorca. In the inside we will enjoy the typical baths buildings spaces, as well as a relaxing garden.

The green areas whose visit is more recommended are the Es Portitxolet beach and Calviá promenade, called Mallorca's 'green lung'. More than 30 km long, it allows us to enjoy the island's vegetation and landscapes.

What to eat?

We should not leave Mallorca without having tasted the 'frit mallorquí' (different kinds of meat, fried in olive oil with vegetables), the 'tumbet' (vegetable dish), with 'esclata-sang', or the stuffed aubergines. In our hotels in Mallorca we will also be able to taste the famous 'ensaimadas' (spiral-shaped pastry), filled with angel hair squash or 'sobrasada' (Mallorcan sausage).
