Casa Milà, known locally as La Pedrera, is by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí and was built in a modernist style between 1906 and 1910. Located at number 92 on Paseo de Gracia in the Barcelona district of El Eixample.
The most central and largest plaza in Barcelona. It is a meeting point between the old city centre and El Eixample. It is the starting point for the city’s important roadways, such as Las Ramblas, Paseo de Gracia, La Rambla de Cataluña and the Universidad and Sant Pere ringroads and Calle Pelayo, as well as Avenida de Puerta del Ángel, the city’s main shopping street, and the old gate in the city walls.
Paseo de Gracia is the most important and luxurious avenue in Barcelona. It is one of the most famous avenues in the world, on the same level as the Champs Elysees in Paris or New York’s 5th Avenue. It contains the best shops and all the main brands. Besides its importance for tourism and business, it is a magnificent showcase for architecture, with outstanding modernist-style buildings, such as those by Antoni Gaudí and Lluís Domènech i Montaner, which have been designated world heritage. The avenue is located in the city centre, El Eixample of Barcelona, and connects Plaza de Cataluña in the south with Calle Mayor de Gracia in the North.
