Hotel a Valencia

Valencia is the capital of the Valencian Community with 800.000 inhabitants and a great amount of hotels. It enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with mild temperatures and few rains. It is located in between Júcar and Turia rivers, enclosed by the Calderona Sierra and the mountain range of Mondúver.

The origin of Valencia dates from the Roman Empire. In its historic centre, which is the biggest in Spain, we can find Visigoth, Muslim, Jewish and Christian historical remains . And also a lot of hotels in Valencia.

What to visit

We recommend three different tours where you can enjoy some of its charms.

Historical Tour: Discover Ciutat Vella and the Muslim Valencia through the remains of the old city wall. Visit Lonja de la Seda (Silk Market), Mercaderes, and Serrano Towers (which keep cannonball hits from the Independence War), the Cathedral, Virgen de los Desamaparados Basilica… and if you still have some time, try to cross the 19 bridges over Turia River.

Cultural Tour: We can feature over 50 museums , exhibit halls and hotels in Valencia. We recommend Bellas Artes Museum (Museum of the Fine Arts), IVAM (Valencia Institute for Modern Arts), or Almoina Museum. If you are looking for a mix between popular science and entertainment, you can visit Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (City of Arts and Science).

Green Tour: Go across Albufera Natural Park, Marjal of Rafalell and Vistabella. And you can visit La Huerta Valenciana (Fruit Garden Belt Area), with its interesting network of irrigating canals. The city features a great number of parks, gardens and hotels as well; such as Turia Gardens, Botanical Garden, or Royal Gardens. A visit to Malvarrosa Beach is a must, too.

Festivities and tradition

If you talk about Valencia you need to talk about The Fallas festivity (Gigantic effigies’ bonfires with a satirical theme). It is held from March 17th until March 19th, although well since the beginning of the month the city is full of mascletás (noisy string of firecrackers), all ending in the Nit del Foc (Night of Fire). But the city is not only Fallas, there are other festivities worth living, such as the Seafare Eastern, the Battle of the Flowers, or the Valencia Diada (Valencia National Day Holliday).

What to eat

Paella, fideuá (thick noodles prepared in a paella way), and all different kinds of rice recipes. We recommend all i pobre, a dish made with eel, for the most adventurous. Regarding to pastries, we can point out the coca (sponge cake), panquemado (a sweet bun) , fartons, a long bun for soaking in horchata (sweet drink made of a truffle like tuber), and other drinks as Mistela (sweet liquor made of muscatel grape juice) and Agua de Valencia (a cocktail made of champaign and oranges).
